BUG THE PUG

Pug by susan S. 011215“Bug the Pug” Bug looks a little like a “pugilist” but that’s not where the Pug
breed got its name. If that was your guess, you were close. The name “Pug” is Latin for “clenched fist” The Pug’s flat nose certainly would fit right in to that profile. For example: Pugs are called “Mops” in Germany, Carlin in France.

Whatever you called these fun little guys, they are popular and capture our hearts as does “Bug” and “Olive” and “Rocco” and “Teddy” all of whom are gallantly featured in Susan Schelling’s picture book “Dogs of Del Mar 2015”
Susan’s work can also be seen at the “Perfect Exposure Gallery in Los Angeles
If you have a “Pug” or know one personally, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us a note in the ” Note Box” below. Thanks ASC
